Core Banking System Migration
A comprehensive migration of 400,000 active retail accounts from a legacy main system to a modern core ledger, achieving absolute consistency and zero unplanned downtime.
The Challenge
Migrating a core banking system is akin to performing open-heart surgery on a running system. The legacy architecture had evolved over three decades, leading to unstructured data dependencies, complex account models, and a high risk of transaction loss during the migration window. Additionally, strict regulatory compliance required proof of absolute balance consistency before and after transition, with zero tolerance for accounting errors.
Architecture & Operations Flow
The Solution
Mochikabu designed and executed a multi-phased migration strategy. We built a real-time ingestion pipeline to stage accounts, and implemented a high-performance Parallel Validation Engine. This engine reconciled all balances continuously during a dual-run period, validating every transaction against the legacy and target platforms in real time. The final transition was managed via a structured hour-by-hour runbook during a single cut-over weekend.
